Argentina removes Honduran envoy

Mr Zelaya was sent into exile on 28 June
Argentina has ordered the expulsion of the Honduran ambassador because of her public support for a coup which ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya.

The Argentine foreign ministry said it "ordered the cessation of functions" of envoy Carmen Eleonora Ortez Williams at Mr Zelaya's request.

Buenos Aires supports the position of the Organisation of American States (OAS), which has condemned June's coup.

The OAS has also called for the restoration of Mr Zelaya to power.

Manuel Zelaya was sent into exile on 28 June, amid a power struggle over his plans for constitutional change.

His critics said the move was aimed at removing the current one-term limit on serving as president, and paving the way for his re-election.

Following Mr Zelaya's removal, the speaker of Congress, Roberto Micheletti - constitutionally second in line to the presidency - was sworn in as interim leader.
